Provides one-time emergency loans and grants for families in the Fraser Valley who are at risk of losing their homes.
The Fraser Valley Rent Bank provides one-time emergency loans and grants for families and individuals who are at risk of losing their homes. Loans are provided to pay for security deposits, utility deposits, and arrears and rent, with a maximum loan repayment period of 24 months. Participants also have the opportunity to build knowledge and skills in effective money management. In order to be considered for a loan or grant, an applicant must:
  • Permanently reside in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz or Harrison Hot Springs
  • Have 2 pieces of ID (one must be government-issued)
  • Agree to a personal financial position assessment (full disclosure)
  • Have a consistent source of income
  • Unable to access any other form of government assistance for housing
  • Be paying market rates (not subsidized)
  • Have rental costs that do not exceed the ongoing ability to rent
  • Not be more than one month in arrears
  • Not have any other loans in process

ReCyclers – Bikes for Kids

The ReCyclers: bikes for KIDS Group was formed eight years ago by a few amazing Volunteers. The mission was to collect gently used bikes, refurbish them and give them away to kids and teens that just couldn’t afford them.
